Substitute Teacher Kit

I'm so excited for my mom and her new adventure as a substitute teacher. I had so much fun putting together her Christmas gift and I thought I'd share!...
My mom loves little poetic snacks like these and was so excited as she opened it up.
Something I want to save for later.

For the "U" fans

Just had to post the pic of the faces I painted to go with the gift we got John and KJ for Christmas. We had their names this year and when I saw the hats I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  I did learn not to spray paint Styrofoam... I wanted to put on a clear top-coat of paint to protect the U decor, mostly from getting on the hats, and the part of the paint that touched the un-painted foam started to shrivel like packing peanuts.  I kind of freaked out and had to re-paint quite a bit.  It is still a little pockmarked, but I love how they turned out and even though I didn't get to see the reactions when it got opened, I was super excited to give it.  I may have to take a pic of the gift I gave my mom too, it was a "Substitute survival kit" with schmaltzy poetry and diet coke memorabilia.  I love Christmas!!

Crafty birthday gift.

I haven't felt all too creative lately, working takes a lot of energy out of me. However, when I woke up yesterday morning at 10:00 AM, I had an unexpected surge of energy. So I poured my energy into creating this little art bag for my niece Aubree's birthday. She is such a darling little girl, and I couldn't quite figure out what to get her… She's the third girl in her family, so she pretty much has it all. I hope she likes it as much as Ashlyn, Who was begging me to give it to her instead. But, I told her since she's in a sewing class she can just make her own! (She liked that idea!)
