first snowman

Meet the first snowman of the season. We love snow at our house. Something about a fresh coat of snow invokes feelings of love, kinship and joy. It also is like a lasso, roping my kids out each time the friendly flakes find our house.
This friendly face was created by Ash and Cars. They were quite inventive using food gel for the details.
I've been a stressed, grouchy mess lately and am so grateful for this glimpse of whimsy.

White Christmas

I know it's not Christmas, but it will definitely be white! (And White;) I was so surprised when I went to start the car this morning, a late start made me even later to work because of the storm. After school there weren't any busses, they were all delayed so the kids had to wait in the gym! Luckily I've had some good "lessons" on driving-in-snow, so I wasn't one of the many who had to get towed up the hill to my driveway. I did, however, park in the neighbors driveway so I could shovel mine. (And a big thanks to Larry for coming to help! It was such a wet, heavy snow!) The rest of this beautiful white day was filled with confectious experimentations for an adult dinner party tomorrow night. I hope they turn out ok!

Ever take a midnight walk after a long, snowy day?
It's.
Magic.

Let it snow!!

I LOVE the snow.
Today is our last day off track and I really wanted to do something fun with the kids...
When we woke up and saw the growing blanket of bliss in the backyard, we knew it would be an outside day.
I plugged in the Cocoa Láte and the kids piled on their winter wear and have been outside since.
