Today is my oldest brother, Matt's, birthday. His wife, Katie, and my mom collaborated and put together a fun and memorable evening. We had a traditional Hawaiin feast including Loco Moco (rice topped with a hamburger patty, a fried egg, and brown gravy) macaroni salad, green salad with mangoes, watermelon and more. Matt served his mission in Hawaii and has a profound love for the culture, people and food and loves to embrace his inner Aloha at any opportunity. Mom made a Matt-burst game that challenged family and friends with a Matt-based trivia, and I made a poster with 40 spaces for memories of Matt. Everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves, especially when it came time for matts favorite dessert: cheesecake! I'm so blessed to have such a kind, loving, protective older brother as one of my best friends.
